December’s Cold Moon reaches peak illumination on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at 10:30 P.M. EST.
December’s full Moon is most commonly known as the Cold Moon—a Mohawk name that conveys the frigid conditions of this time of year, when cold weather truly begins to grip us.

Ode to the Silver Moon
Shine down upon thy chosen landscape
O cold, silver moon.
Enlighten our expectant souls.
Penetrate the dark cavities of our minds.
Fill them with thy silver radiance.
Illuminate our paths in the year to come,
So that we reflect light throughout our world.
