Rolling Out Summer

As I sat in my lawn chair gazing out at Hubbard Lake, the following lyrics came to mind.
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer.
After singing “Zippity-doo-dah” to myself, I contemplated how to Roll out summer:
lazy At my age, I have earned the right to be lazy and I can wallow in it
hazy My memory can be foggy, but I’ll give myself a break and accept hazy instead
crazy Okay, Let’s get crazy. Let’s step outside normalcy, let’s cross boundaries, let’s shatter glass ceilings, let’s shed modesty, let’s be the Devil’s Advocate, and let’s be outlandish! “Let’s go crazy, folks! Let’s go crazy!”
As I reel myself in, I will attempt to “dust off the sun and moon” and, therefore, offer these images.

In conclusion, I turn to gratitude, and I offer thanks for: life, liberty, longevity, good health, family, and the pursuit of happiness.
